Inspired by Fred Astaire, Fred Flare is a boutique that believes in products that are fun and entertaining. Check out some of their other products from one of my past posts.

1. Recipe journal – This is great for holding not only recipes, but also take-out menus.

2. GIANT cupcake cake mold – A giant cupcake is great for entertaining. It's sure to get everyone's attention.

Remembering MJ

I was shocked when I heard about Michael Jackson's death yesterday. My husband and I reminisced about all the songs we could remember (there were so many of them). Later, I spoke with my brother and reminisced even more. Michael Jackson's music was the soundtrack to many of our childhood memories in the 80s.

I was a big Michael Jackson fan. I had a poster of the pink album cover on the left, and of course the original Thriller album. Can't deny the cultural influence Michael Jackson had on pop culture. It's also interesting to think that I started out listening to his music on vinyl, then a cassette tape on my Walkman; Later a CD and now, his music is in my iTunes, iPod, and iPhone.

I had to commemorate him.

Sika Designs

Love, love, love these really, really, cute dresses by Sika Designs! The designs are a mix of London's urban fashion with the beautiful textiles of Ghana, West Africa. All garments are handmade using traditional methods such as tie dye, batiks, and wax prints.These were my favorites which are all from the Fusion collection. Also check out Sika Designs' other collections: Wonderland, Spellbound, and Goldcoast.

Office supplies can be fun to buy, but they can look a little humdrum. Girl of All Work creates office accessories with flair. File folders, page tags, and bookmarks never looked so good.

Frank Lucas

Frank Lucas was the first African American illustrator and photographer in Boston's advertising industry. He graduated from the Vesper George School of Art, after being an illustrator and photographer for the Army during the Korean War.
