Check out these beautiful items knitted by Liz Kalloch, a multi-talented artist from San Francisco and blogger of Athena Dreams. I love the rich colors and textures in her different pieces. I love her photography too!
You should also check out Liz's Flickr color group called Living Colours. I've mentioned the color group before, (click here to see original post) but I want to mention it again because the imagery is so rich with color. It's a great place to journal about color and find out what others think about it too.
The spiritual meanings of the holidays are so much grander than the giving of gifts, but as a child, the beauty of Christmas was the anticipation of getting gifts early, very early Christmas morning. One of the experiences that I delighted in during that time was seeing what was in treats I received in my Christmas stocking.
Santa would fill it with apples, tangerines, brazil and walnuts at the bottom and on top were items such as a flavored chapstick, fun bracelets, mini pocket games, and so many other exciting knick-knacks. Holiday stockings are great for gifts and are a great alternative to "the gift basket." Plus, you can find them in different sizes to fit your needs. They can even be themed!
Here are a few stockings that I found at different shops. The stockings in the top image are from Horchow. The poppy and snowman stockings are from Hable Construction. The one with the hanging pom poms is from Free People, and the ones on the bottom are from Garnet Hill.
