It's starting to get cooler outside, so you may be thinking about things you can do inside. I've been eyeing this book for a couple of months now, and I finally got it. Since we no longer have Domino magazine to swoon over each month this is the next best thing: Domino: The Book of Decorating. I'm loving the wealth of information in this book, but it still leaves me wanting more. Hmm...maybe...hopefully, Domino magazine will come back.

I braved the snow on Sunday after a little cabin fever Saturday. What I discovered while "window shopping" online Saturday morning, is that there are some really good sales out there. The one that I was particularly interested in checking out was Pier 1 Imports. I needed a little treat since I'd been so good at not eating out so much. What I was able to get were several little treats. I bought four placemats, a picture frame and two pillar holders (for candles) for under $8! So, if you're due for a treat too, you'll love the sale. There are items in the store that you can't get online. So, if you get a chance, check it out. Get them before they're gone.
Here are the items I bought for less than 8 bucks! I didn't see the placemats online, but the one unfolded on the table is only 98¢!
Here are some other items that are at a great deal.
1. Coral Desk Frame – I'm considering spray painting this piece which I got for only $1.48.
2. Hot Pink Phaleanopsis Stem – 48¢ a stem! The great thing about orchids are that you only need one or two stems.
3. Lacquer Chargers – These aren't especially fun to look at here, but imagine what they can do for decorating your table? You can stock up on red, gold, or silver for the holidays this year, or it may work with your current decor. Price per charger? Only 98¢!
4. Votive Candle Gift Set – I really like the candle holder with this set. It has a Moroccan vibe to it. Current price? $2.48 each.
5. Iron Philodendron Wall Décor – I love this leaf. I've seen it in every home decor magazine on the stands, but I have yet to find it in a store. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. This piece, which is an antique silver, is only $8.98.
6. Mini Gold Basket – This would be great to hold whatever knickknacks you may have, or it would be great gift basket. At only 68¢ a piece, you can create gift baskets for everyone this year.
7. Assorted Pencil Bags – I have so many pencils and pens. Sometimes they can be a bit of an eye sore, but if they're displayed or put away creatively, they're not so bad. This pencil bag could do the trick. These bags are only 98¢ a piece.
8. Decorative Sticky Notepads — Colorful and fun, these are great treats, too. These are only $1.18.
